The electrical installation of the Emec KMS MF

The KMS MF series dosing pumps is the ideal solution for low or medium dosing of chemicals. All parameters for operation and set-up are available via a digital keypad and displayed on a backlit LCD screen. In addition, the Emec KMS MF metering pump about the following in and out:

Standby input
LEVEL input
Alarm output (contact)

Flow rate

The flow rate can be determined by the stroke length and the stroke speed. Using the adjustment knob, you can set the stroke length between 0% and 100%, only the dosage can be guaranteed within a range of 30% to 100%.

This explanation addresses that of the Emec KMS MF, but can also be used for other electromagnetic models such as the AMS, TMS and VMS (excluding the PRIUS and PRISMA).

Preparation

All electrical connections must only be carried out by authorised and qualified employees.

Follow the following steps before proceeding:

Check that the values on the pump's label are compatible with the power supply.
The pump should be connected to an installation with a differential switch (with a sensitivity of 0.03A) if there is no proper earthing.
To avoid damaging the pump, do not install it in parallel with a heavy induction load (such as that of a motor). A relay switch should be used. See photo.

After verifying previous steps, proceed as follows:

Check that the 'BNC' of the level probe is connected as described on the 'Hydraulic Installation' page.
Connect the 'BNC' and the external signal to input connectors of the pump. This input can be used as follows:
Water meter with pulse generator.
Start-up contact point for 'BATCH' mode.
Voltage input for 'VOLT' mode.
Current input for 'mA' mode.
Connect the alarm and/or standby signal as described in the figure.
